Nelson Hori
Nelson Hori is honored to serve in his third year as the Principal of Kathleen MacDonald High School. He is deeply committed to the school's mission and vision, striving to foster a fully inclusive environment that nurtures both the educational and interpersonal development of every student. As Principal, Nelson continues to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families to build upon MacDonald High School’s strong foundation.
Nelson brings over 23 years of educational experience to his role, all of which was proudly served within Santa Clara Unified School District. He spent his first 14 years as a science teacher at Cabrillo Middle School, where he helped design the curriculum and structure for the 49ers STEM Leadership Institute. Transitioning into administration, he served as a Vice Principal at Cabrillo for three years, then four years as a Vice Principal at Santa Clara High School before coming to MacDonald High School as a Principal. His extensive administrative background spans student support services, including Special Education, 504 plans, and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), as well as oversight of school operations, discipline, attendance, technology, and Title IX compliance.
Born in Hawaii and raised in the Bay Area, Nelson attended SJSU, where he received his Bachelor's degree, his Master's degree in Administration and Supervision with an emphasis in Educational Leadership, and his Administrative Services Credential.
Nelson looks forward to continuing his work in creating a supportive, dynamic environment where all members of the community are empowered to thrive. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, camping, hiking, jogging, surfing, and snowboarding with his wife and two teenage sons.
Principal

Teresa Posas
Teresa Posas joins MacDonald High School as the Vice Principal of Curriculum and Instruction. With over 24 years of dedicated experience in education, Ms. Posas brings a deep passion for student advocacy, instructional excellence, and community partnership to the leadership team at MacDonald High School.
She taught for 10 years in the Mountain View-Whisman School District, followed by seven years as an Assistant Principal in the Cupertino Union School District, and most recently, the past three years as a Vice Principal at Santa Clara High School.
Ms. Posas was born and raised in Santa Clara and attended SCUSD schools. She lived in the state of Jalisco, Mexico, for 5 years of her childhood. Ms. Posas earned a BA in Spanish Studies from Santa Clara University and later an MA in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of San Francisco.
Ms. Posas’s educational philosophy centers on the belief that every student deserves a rigorous, accessible, and inclusive education. As Vice Principal, Ms. Posas plays a vital role in bridging district-level initiatives with daily classroom success, ensuring that teachers are supported and students are empowered to thrive.
"My goal is to create a school environment where equity is at the center of everything we do. By listening to student voices, supporting our incredible staff, and partnering deeply with families, we can build a community where every single student feels seen, valued, and prepared for the future."
In her free time, Ms. Posas enjoys spending time with her two children, watching them play soccer, hiking, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Vice Principal

Jean Wang
Jean Wang joins MacDonald High School as the Vice Principal of Student Activities. Ms. Wang brings a wealth of experience, having dedicated 21 years to the Cupertino Union School District. During her time there, she spent the last 10 years in administration, inclduing five years as the Principal of Cupertino Middle School.
A proud local, Ms. Wang was raised right here in San Jose, and is a graduate of Lynbrook High School. She earned a BA in Political Science from UC San Diego and furthered her education with an MA in Education Leadership from San Jose State University.
Throughout her career, Ms. Wang has been dedicated to creating inclusive environments, where students feel connected and supported. She is passionate about the positive impact extracurricular activities have on student development, leadership skills, and overall well-being, and is committed to MacDonald High as being the hub of your child's high school experience.
In her free time, Ms. Wang enjoys spending time with her own two children, her dogs, and her family and friends.
